Environment and Sustainability Co-op Program
4 month summer co-op program for students working towards a Master's degree in Environment and Sustainability (MES). This interdisciplinary program teaches students the Foundations of Sustainability, Ecosystem Health, Engineering Solutions, Planning and Management, Sustainable Business Practices, GIS Training, and Environmental Legislation and Certification. Engineering Industry Internship Program
12 to 16 month engineering internships for students (having completed
3 of 4 years of studies) from the following engineering disciplines:
Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical, and Integrated
Engineering.
No subsidy but companies may be eligible for the Co-operative Education
Tax Credit of $1000 per 4 month work term.

Summer Engineering Co-Op Program (SECOP)
Four month (May-August) work placements giving highly motivated and
technically skilled engineering students from the above disciplines
experience in the workplace.

Science Industry Internship Program
12 to 16 month science internships for students (having completed
3 of 4 years of studies) from the following disciplines: Applied Mathematics,
Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Mathematics,
Physics & Astronomy, Statistical & Actuarial Sciences, Bio
chemistry, Medical Biophysics, Microbiology, & Immunology, Physiology, & Pharmacology.
No subsidy but companies may be eligible for the Co-operative Education
Tax Credit of $1000 per 4 month work term.

AIESEC
2 to 18 month work terms for international students from all disciplines
are available.
No subsidy - fees are $725 for administration and minimum monthly
salary of $1700. AIESEC at Western takes care of all visas, work permits,
residence, community & culture integration, and ongoing support
throughout the work term.

Co-Operative Education
Manufacturing related co-op programs are available in the following
areas:
Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Design & Mobile
Equipment), Mechanical Technician (Tool & Die), Accounting, Marketing,
Purchasing, Business Administration, Computer Programming, Analysis
and Technician, Electrical Engineering, Robotics & Process Control,
and Environmental Technology.
Most co-op programs have students available year round, for either
4, 8 or 12 month periods.
