Quixtar Canada Corporation is a web-based business featuring TRI-DIGITAL
COMMERCE(SM) -- a blend of consumer shopping, membership benefits and
business ownership unlike any other on the Internet. Quixtar was launched
in 1999 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alticor Inc., which is
headquartered in Ada, Michigan. Other Alticor business units include Amway
Corporation and Access Business Group LLC. In the Quixtar business model,
Independent Business Owners (IBOs) earn income on the retail sale of
products and services, as well as earn bonuses based on the overall sales
volume generated through the business organizations they develop. Revenues
resulting from the efforts of Quixtar-powered IBOs were $751 million USD
for the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2001. Quixtar also offers two additional
levels of participation: Member and Client. Members are retail customers
who register with Quixtar and pay an annual fee to buy product at preferred
pricing. Clients are retail customers who can shop the QUIXTAR Web site
without charge, but purchase products at full retail prices. All Members
and Clients must register with an IBO.
Quixtar features a variety of
products and services, including exclusive products such as ARTISTRY skin
care and cosmetics, NUTRILITE nutrition and wellness products and SA8
laundry care products. As well, Quixtar offers a multitude of top name
brands in apparel, electronics, appliances and other categories. In its
Canadian office, Quixtar employs 215 people and processes approximately
